DJ Harrison is a 2 x Grammy nominated artist, producer, and multi-instrumentalist. He has released several albums as a solo artist including two on Stones Throw, Tales from the Old Dominion and HazyMoods, and in February 2024, he will release Shades of Yesterday, a new album of cover versions made up of the deep cuts and beloved hits that make the artist who he is today. The record pays homage to Harrison’s musical heroes, looks back to his upbringing in Richmond, VA, and nods to the influence of his contemporaries.

But Harrison is not only known for his work as a solo artist. He has created a vast catalog of compositions under his producer moniker, including with Phonte, Steve Arrington, Pink Siifu and Joyce Wrice. He has also contributed to music for artists such as Jack White, Natalie Prass, Sherman Holmes, and Kurt Elling – winning two Grammy nominations for his work on Elling’s most recent albums – and he is a member of the band Butcher Brown, a “garage punk jazz funk” group who recently released a new album, Solar Music.
