Stones Throw Direct-to-Disc #2: Gary Wilson, The Stepkids, May 28th in Los Angeles

In celebration of Stones Throw Records 15-year anniversary, we are mounting a series of shows with various Stones Throw artists performing live and recording directly to vinyl, in front of an audience of 100 people at a studio/pressing plant in Los Angeles.
May 28th will be the second installment of the DTD series featuring our latest signing The Stepkids along with veteran Gary Wilson and label founder Peanut Butter Wolf spinning in between bands. Free cocktails will be provided by VnC. Tickets will be given away by KCRW and Slamhype.com.
Like the first show, the sets will be recorded straight to vinyl LP in real time. No computers, tape, or digital gear will be used in the recording. The artists will perform 30 minutes each with the recording engineers mixing and mastering the record as it’s happening. No CD’s or digital copies will be manufactured or sold.
Records from DTD #1 featuring Mayer Hawthorne and Rick, recorded live on April 14th, will be pressed live at DTD #2 on May 28th. The remainder will go on sale at stonesthrow.com the next day.
