Description: “Keep Running Away” by Clifford Nyren returned the Soul-Cal to its So-California roots. The song, recorded in Huntington Beach in 1979 while Nyren attended college, was only ever available on a limited edition record that his school released to promote its recording program. A beautiful jazzy soul tune that reminds us of Roy Ayers and Earth Wind & Fire’s finest works, “Keep Running Away” stood as the eighth record in the Soul-Cal series, with its original form as the A side, and an extended edit by Egon on the B side.
