Back before Serato, Peanut Butter Wolf had to do a mix CD for some UK-based company and he wanted to blend in some unreleased tracks. So we decided to cut a white label 12” with them, and, since we had extra room on the vinyl, we decided to add some songs that we’d always wanted on wax (degenerate record collectors that we are). One of those songs was a demo Madlib recorded over a J Dilla beat in 2001, casually credited to “Jaylib.” This caught the attention of Dilla himself, and led to the birth of the official collaboration between the two artists. Madlib/Quasimoto tracks "LAX to JFK" and "Green Power (Original Version)" were remastered many years later for release on Quasimoto's Yessir Whatever.
